What if my sheet isn't flat or is bowed or warped?

Most Foresso sheets vary in flatness, both across the width and the length. This is due to lots of different small factors but can be mitigated by warming the sheet up.

Foresso has plenty of flex to it and can easily be fixed down using screws.

What should I expect from the wood chips?

Our wood comes from non commercial sources and can vary in colour, please refer to specific product pages for more details.

Within a sheet you will have a variety of wood colours, as well as a variety of chip densities. Some areas will have more chips, and some will have fewer.

What is a factory edge?

When we supply sheets that are not cut and finished they have a factory edge.

This edge is uncut and unfinished, it will be rough and may have writing, barcodes, or other marks on it. Full sheets will need to be trimmed to enable the edge to be finished.

Will Foresso always be exactly 24mm thick?

No. Every sheet is finished individually and will vary in thickness between 23mm and 24m thick.

In addition, some sheets can have slightly rounded corners as a result of our sanding process.

Is Foresso suitable for wet rooms?

No, we do not recommend Foresso for wet rooms, inside showers, or other areas that will have significant amounts of standing water.

What about bathrooms and kitchens?

Foresso is great for both bathroom and kitchen floors and countertops. Treat it as you would other wooden surfaces, although it is more durable.

You can find more detailed guidance on how to maintain your surface on our Care and Maintenance page.

Can I use Foresso outside?

We recommend Foresso for internal use.

How heavy is Foresso?

Foresso is approximately 20kg per square meter. Below are example weights for our standard sheets.

2440 x 1220 x 24mm = 60kg

3050 x 750 x 24mm = 45kg

3050 x 1220 x 24mm = 75kg

How heat resistant is it?

Foresso is totally fine for hot plates, mugs, and the like, but a hot pan off the stove will mark it. Think of it like a more durable hardwood.

How durable is it?

Foresso has good stain and scratch resistance. Our standard hardwax oil finish gives good water repellence. It will age over time, but is very easy to maintain and refresh for years to come.

Can I use an undermount sink?

We recommend surface or flush mounted sinks sealed with silicone to prevent water ingress to the plywood substrate. We do not recommend or warrant against the use of undermount sinks.

Can you cut a drainage board into the worktop?

We do not recommend that drainage grooves are cut into Foresso.

Do you survey and template for worktops?

We do not offer a templating service but you can send us your design and we can create a custom worktop.

How do I install Foresso flooring?

Foresso floors are supplied with a tongue and groove so they are installed just like an engineered wooden floor. Please refer to our Working with Foresso page for more information.

Can I have Underfloor Heating with my Foresso?

Yes! Foresso is great with underfloor heating, but you must follow our UFH Guide.

Do I need to grout my Foresso floor?

No, Foresso flooring is a tongue and groove product just like other engineered wood flooring, you do not need to grout or fill the joins.

Should I order more than I need?

Yes, we recommend a 10% overage. This means that you will need to figure out how many square meters of flooring you need, and then add 10% onto that.

What is Foresso’s slip rating?

Dry - PTV of 52 (Low Slip Potential). Equivalent to R12.

Wet - PTV of 26 (Moderate Slip Potential). Equivalent to R10.
